Our first inclination as people is to assume that others are the same as us — that they think, feel, and act in similar ways.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

What’s important to note is that these people are likely to gridlock each other, simply because they are so different in their perspectives.

They have different orientations to time, they approach problems differently, they behave differently socially, and so the list goes on.

When they get into a meeting, they’re going to approach situations differently.

Bruce will take the lead and try to talk and think his way through the issue, looking for patterns and insights.

Melissa will focus on action plans and will be looking for opportunities and obstacles.

Brad will be analysing and trying to align Bruce and Melissa (much to their collective frustration) and will be looking at risks and process issues.
