Work gearing

Work gearing refers to the skills you use to show up and operate within an organisation. The counterintuitive thing is that your work gearing is different from your personality.
Work gearing can also involve mapping soft skills, identifying strengths, and understanding where people lose energy in the work they do.
Here, we think about the work people love doing — with love defined as work where:
- you look forward to doing it
- you get lost in the work
- you look forward to going back to it
This also shows that people may be efficient at certain tasks, yet lose energy while doing them and wish they could be doing something else.
Work gearing skills centre around big-picture thinking, creativity, helping others or inspiring collaboration, driving task completion and more.
As with personality work, Th1nk helps organisations map these results to understand which skills are in play, where the gaps are, and how organisations can align the work with how people are energised, in order to increase productivity in individuals and cohesion in teams.
